Stuff and stuff [Nov. 1st, 2005|10:58 pm]
[mood |jolly]
[music |George Harrison - The Pirate Song]

Halloween was yesterday and it was interesting. The original plan for the nights festivities comprised of going to see the Rocky Horror Picture show, where my boys, the Jolly Garogers were doing a set. Unfortunately, last week I found out that the gig had been cancelled, but they were still doing an early set at Ego's. I had already put in to get Nov. 1st off, to accommodate any Halloween over-indulgence. After finding out the re-schedule, I tried to switch shifts with a co-worker to get off earlier.
Now, I'm a reasonable guy, and can handle rejection. If she (co-worker) had simply said 'No' I'd have thought 'Shit, ah well, we'll just try to catch what we can'. But instead, she says 'Oh, I'll have to let you know...' So after two days, she calls me and says 'Oh, sorry I can't' and gives her excuse. And I'm feeling pretty let down... again, I can go with the flow, I was planning for missing the show start anyway, but to be strung along like that fuckin' pisses me off.
So, Halloween comes, an I arrive in my costume. Black Jolly Garogers shirt, ripped black pirate pants, stocking, boots and black overcoat. No one outside of the Photo Lab seemed ti gave known it was Halloween. My Dept. Manager is dressed as a doctor, and Miss I'll Let You Know is in a fucking cap and gown. Anyways, fast-forward to closing time, everything goes without a hitch, shut down occurs on time, and my sister and her husband arrive to pick me up.
We beeline over to Egos, and it looks pretty dead. We find out that the JG's gig starts at 11. (Website had 8pm listed) We sit for a minute, and Stagedive (from the JGs) arrives in his van. I had bought a T-shirt for him that reads 'I Swear I didn't Do It (It was some guy dressed as me)'. He laughed and we all talked for a bit.
It turns out that on Sept 19, which was Talk Like a Pirate Day, The JG's did several gigs all during the day, and had a camera crew tagging them. The footage was compiled into a documentary. It sounded pretty cool.
After that, the three off us went to IHoP for some dinner, then returned to the bar. We got it, met with the band some more, hanging out. Unfortunately, as we're standing around, Fremont (the drummer) announces that his cymbal kit has walked away. No cymbals, no drummer, no show. About fifteen or so minutes of searching the area, no luck. Captain Phleabag goes on and apologizes, but the show's been cancelled. They start packing up, and Stagedive comes over to personally apologize. I tell him its more of a drag about the kit than missing the show. He turns and says 'Let me grab you a DVD at least' and gets a copy of their documentary from the merchendise case. I ask how much I owe him, and he says nothing. We all offer our last goodbyes, and each band member (except Phleabag, who had gone elsewhere to double check) apologized, and we again said that the bigger disappointment was the theft.
Something I had found a little humorous was when Stagedive said that if we were looking for entertainment to try and check out rocky Horror. We ultimately decided to just call it a night, and I got my picture taken with Stagedive. All in all, it was an interesting night, but I think next Halloween I may just phone it in altogether.

Its my birthday [Apr. 26th, 2005|12:26 am]
[mood |meh]
[music |Apologetix - JC's Mom]

By all technical accounts, its been my birthday for 30 minutes. Earlier this evening my friends took me out to celebrate. We went to my favorite restaurant, the Spaghetti Warehouse. Food was great as usual. Before that we hit my two favorite comic shops, and I'll be damned if the one didnt have any backstock like they usually do, and I had a whole list of crap I needed.
Anyway, then we went to a bar that had karaoke and we had an alright time. I think honestly the hype leading up to it far outweighed the actual experience. I think I'll just phone it in next year.
I need to take a real vacation.

Son of a f*ckin' monkey [Mar. 25th, 2005|09:16 pm]
[mood |MC Chris-less]
[music |TMBG f. Homestar Runner - With A Little Help From My Friends]

So... I've been looking forward to seeing MC Chris in concert next month. Some much so, that I didn't order the tickets in time... I go to the site, and Saints be buggered, they're sold out. Fuck. And I invited friends to go, so I had the fun job of telling them that I completely fucked up. But, on the bright side, I ordered tickets for a show three weeks from the MC Chris show, for Mindless Self Indulgence.

[music |9 Worlds - Shake My Hand (I'm Running for President)]

Wow, I really need to update this farkin' LJ more often. Damn, you'd think with all the wacky things that have been going on, I'd have a lot more to say. Sooo... in list format... Stuff (dum-da-DUMMMMMM!!!) That Happened... (doo ditta doooooo!!!) to Me! (*crickets*)

1. I got a new job! No longer am I a Garden Center suck-monkey for Sam Walton! No! I am now a Photo Shop Clerk suck-monkey for Sam Walton! I run a register and deal with idiotic customers on a minute-by-minute basis. If I were allowed to watch Hermaphroditic Porn, I'd be just like Randal Graves, god of Clerking. Speaking of which, The Big K is making Clerks 2! Huzzah!
"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, Dante Hicks is just like you. He loooves grape soda. He knows what it's like when the guy in the supermarket won't take your FOOD STAMPS. Or how it feels to wait all month for your WELFARE CHECK. Hey! Ho! Hey! Ho! Thank you."

2. I saw Weird Al in Concert on Friday, August 27th, in the company of my best friend, his girlfriend, my other friend, my other other friend, my sister (gwenglo), and her friend (magnoliasimms)

"That was a kick ass show! I totally copped a feel off this passed out broad when they were playin' Urgent. Now everytime I hear that song 'Urgent' I think of that girls boobs... covered in vomit..."

Aaaaand... thats it. For now

[mood |generational]
[music |Limozeen - Because, It's Midnite]

Meh, bored. Think I'll list all the toys I've purchased in the last few weeks
The new Black variant Unicron.
Mallrats Inaction Figures. Because I love Kevin Smith in a completely 'hetero-lifemate' kind of way... ah, behold the awesomeness of Jay, Silent Bob, Brodie, Willam, the ever elsusive Rene (Brenda?!) and of course the Dalls Wizard Con Exclusive Brodie with Dixie Cup.
I also have started a collection of these freaky 'Homies Clowns' Plushes... reminiscent of the ICP plushes...hmmmm...
And while not a toy, I bought a kickass Limozeen T-Shirt. Yeah!

[mood |Jet-propulsioned]
[music |Da Vinci's Notebook - Enema Countdown]

With all the crap that goes through my head in the course of a day, hell in an hour, I'm surprised I don't update this Live Journal more often. Here's the thought of the... um... span of time.
I put an MST3K sticker on my TV. It's a clear clingy, of the silhouettes, and it's in the corner of the screen. It's like having MST3K on all the time, except they never move and don't talk. Wow, I'm clever...ish. Cleverish.

Well, my 'net access has been limited thanks to the idiots at the Cable place. I know how desperately you need to hear my thoughts. Luckily, I don't have many. Oh... while I remember, I won a couple eBay auctions, for the original Jay & Silent talking action figures, as well as the Bluntman & Chronic set. Ironically, the total (minus Shipping) is $37... how funny is that?

Also, Dante, Randal, and Jay & Silent Bob continue to stand on the desktop, not doing a damn thing. Yeah, inaction!

Not much on my mind to speak of. More or less not much exciting going on recently. Not that it matters. Today was a total loss, but oh well. I've just been letting everything wash over me recently.
